CHL Modern Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节

15th September 2022

On 10 September 2022, the Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 was celebrated as per Chinese tradition. It is a day of family reunion, and a day of enjoying moon cakes 月饼 while watching the bright and round moon after dinner.

On the afternoon of Friday, 2 September the CHL Modern Chinese program hosted a mooncake party for students and staff of the program to celebrate the festival. Various types of moon cake were served. There was also poetry reading and singing, Chinese language games, and staff self-introductions (in Chinese).

Around 50 Australian and Chinese students and staff attended, and CHL Director Simon Haberle, graced the occasion to share in the festivities and convey his good wishes to everyone. Here's a glimpse of the celebrations!
